Since the mission of the Shane McGee Foundation involves promoting consumer safety and awareness – and helping others – we will frequently hold community events. These family-friendly events will be designed to further our mission and increase public knowledge of various consumer safety issues.

In May 2010, we announced the winners of the Forth Annual Shane McGee Foundation Memorial Scholarship. Gregory Cohen of Monarch High School and Fahad Mithavayani of Western High School were awarded $5000 each to the college of their choice. The students were recognized during the Broward County Bar Association's Law Week Luncheon. The students were also taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the courthouse by The Honorable Jeffrey E. The Shane McGee Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009-2010 Annual Shane McGee Foundation Memorial Scholarship. Krista Marti of Fort Lauderdale High School and Jessica Satinoff of Cooper City High School were awarded $5000 each to the college of their choice. Matthew Gebaide of Cooper City High School and Katerina Kurteva of Fort Lauderdale High School were awarded $5000 each to the college of their choice. On August 13, 2007, the Shane McGee Foundation sponsored "Shane's Day for Kids". We sent 100 children from Kids In Distress on a field trip to the Museum of Science and Discovery in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The children enjoyed numerous learning exhibits and watched an exciting IMAX movie about dinosaurs. It was truely a pleasure to be able to do something special for these children who rarely get the chance to participate in activities like this.
